Addendum: Subsequent steering rack rebuilds have shown that rather than cutting off the rack extensions, risking possible damage to the rack end threading, the extension punch marks can be drilled out and the extensions torch heated. This will allow for the rack extensions to then be easily unscrewed from the rack ends.
